Description

The first ever Sikh Bharatanatyam dancer in India, Jatinderpal has already made it to the Guinness Book of World Records. Training under Guru Rajee Narayan for the past 18 years, he is also learning Nattuvangam and Natya Shastra. He teaches Bharatanatyam and conducts workshops in Handicrafts and Fabric Painting for children. He has performed in all the dance ballets of Nritya Geethanjali and given several solo stage performances in Bharatanatyam at reputed venues. He has performed at the Riverside Museum and was also invited to give a demo on handicraft and fabric painting at the Carl & Anderson School, Riverside, California, Los Angeles, USA.

Recently the Rotary Club of Bombay Midcity conferred the Vocational Excellence Award to him. He won the men’s freestyle solo dance competition, on Boogie-Woogie. He is skilled in teaching visually, hearing and orally impaired, mentally challenged, spastic as well as paraplegic children, not only dance, but also handicrafts and fabric painting, as a means towards gainful self-employment. Jatinderpal currently teaches dance at The Delhi Public School, Nerul.
