Group Classes

The classes are of two categories, group and individual. While the group is for Bharathanatyam for beginners and the next level, the individual classes are only for advanced training. Open to ages 6 – 14 and ages 15-45. The group classes run on Fridays, 6-7.30 pm at 'The Circle, 33 Rockingham Lane, Sheffield, S1 4FW', ph:07868780356. More information on style, teaching method, fees etc. can be obtained, please contact the tutor. I especially welcome enquiries from students who are differently abled.

One-to-one Classes

I welcome enquiries for three different one-to-one classes. They are 1) advanced nritha (margham items, but adavu practice will be given) 2) abhinaya (learning of the abhinaya technique, at the end of which students will be able to choreograph a simple item). This course carries prerequisites, the students are expected to have studied hastas and viniyogas and be exposed to at least one sample of each of the margham items. They will be taught the main aspects of the Kalanidhi Narayanan's bhani of Abhinaya. 3) Nattuvangham. This is a highly specialised course, only under exceptional circumstances will I take a student who is not trained in Bharathanatyam or any other form of dance. However this is a possibility, subject to initial assessment of interest, enthusiasm and knowledge. The course includes oral work, thattu kali and thalam.

Class contact hours and fees are tailored to the student and are the subject of negotiation for one-to-one classes only.
