Description

Utsāv is a joyous celebration of Kathak on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. To celebrate the occasion, Sujata Banerjee Dance Company (SBDC) will present students of many London-based Kathak teachers as an homage to the contributions of Kathak Gurus and their enrichment of the form around the world.



Utsāv will include a short solo with live music accompaniment by Jaina Modasia and Natalia Hildner. Jaina is a young Kathak dancer with a promise! Natalia has been training with Pandit Birju Maharaj since 2007 and has performed in various prestigious events and festivals around the world including the USA, Canada and India. She is currently studying South Asian Dance at Roehampton University and this performance will be her London debut.
